Image Resizers

These two software titles integrate into your system's Right-Click menu, allowing you to resize your digital images quickly and without complex software.
  • Microsoft's Image Resizer Powertoy only works on Windows XP. 
  • For Vista and Windows 7, you will need VSO's Image Resizer, below.

More and more, folks are using digital images to help teach with, whether incorporating them into presentations, movies, or just publishing content on the web. Most cameras are digital these days too. The problem is: we often find ourselves with pictures that are simply too BIG, in terms of resolution. How do you shrink these images down to size?

Many of us use Photoshop or Paint, or maybe even Picasa, but there is a much easier way, from Microsoft!  Simply download this tiny little file, and you will be able to resize any image just by right-clicking on it.  No software to start up, just right-click.  Microsoft has also published other nifty tools, called PowerToys, and they can do some really cool things.


VSO Image Resizer

With this free resize image software, you can create e-mail friendly versions of your images, load them faster, move them easily from folder to folder, change their format, edit large numbers of image files/batch image resize and thus save space on your hard drive. Using high resolution 1600x1200 for creating wallpaper or file-sharing you can save your memory. VSO Image Resizer can also change file names using a template and you can add your own watermark with transparency support.

VSO Image resizer is integrated into the Windows explorer shell, right click on your pictures and start working on your pictures !
